Sweetheart Rally, Brazos Valley, Caldwell
The 2023 rally year began at Brazos Valley in Caldwell with Jodi's team with Darrell, Scott, and Sherry hosting. The table decorations they made for the rally were awesome. We all had a fun time visiting and playing table games, bean bag baseball, Billy Mann is getting ready to toss as Sherry keeps score, and a big 30's tournament, won by Tim Sak.
Saint Patricks Day, Buchanhan Lake , Burnet
We decked out in green, ate corned beef and cabbage, and celebrated old St Patty's day in style. George Speir was appointed Constable for the rally and made a list of infractions and offenders during the week. On the last evening each offender was called before the Magistrate (Don) and appropriate fines collected. We also played a timed gift wrap game won by Ms Paula Monteith.
Spring Fling, Crockett Family campground , Crockett
Leon and Charlotte Busby, Paul and Candy Hughes hosted our Spring Fling in Crockett. We had a food drive for the local food bank who were very thanful for our donation. We enjoyed a garbage can dinner, zippy omelet breakfast, chicken smoked outside by Henry Kitchens and Dan Poole. In addition to many table games, we played a minute to win it competition which was a hoot, and on the last night a 30;s game to beat all 30's games. Jodi edged out newcomer Ronnie Sexton for the win.
Sacred Heart Picnic, Knights of Columbus Campground , Hallettsville
We gathered at the Knights of Columbus Campground in Hallettsville to rally and to attend the Memorial Day picnic provided by the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Robert and Pam Butler, Randy and Sandy Martin, and Bob and Kathy McCleskey graciously hosted the rally. They provided Subway sandwiches for everyone our 1st night and we had our famous Hay Stack Lunch on Memorial day after a brief ceremony honoring our fallen military members. Robert Butler was the winner of our annual Texas Holdem Tournament. We had great participation in our Bolo Ball competition, enjoyed by all.
4th Of July, Salmon Lake Campground , Grapeland
The Boomers celebrated the 4th of July once again with a blast. We put on an awesome fireworks show for the club and the town of Grapeland. It was well received by all. We also enjoyed an old fashioned hamburger cookout and played lots of table games during the week.
Hot Summer Nights Flamingle, Johnson Creek , Ingram
We gathered at Johnson Creek in August for a midweek flamingle mainly to celebrate Pat's 85th Birthday. We had a good crowd at Billy Gene's restaurant in Kerrville followed by a birthday party for Pat at the park afterward. It was great seeing the Palmer's, DiGiovanni's and Rupp's again. We enjoyed just visiting, playing games and a wonderful fish fry.
Early Fall Rally, Coushatte RV Ranch, Bellville
Good turnout for the Early Fall Rally at Coushatte. Started out with some great Chinese food in Bellville. Had a good time playing Swoop, Fast Track, Canasta, etc. and the 30 Tournament won by Ken Wilson.
October Fest, Longhorn RV, Niederwald
Oktoberfest war wunderbar am Niederwald. We enjoyed a German wine and beer fest, held our annual auction, ate our traditional garbage can dinner, played many games, Paula and Jack really got into our Halloween costume party. We all really enjoyed our 1st Boomers rally at Longhorn RV.
Christmas Rally, Red Bud Ranch, Hutto
Christmas was special for the Boomers at our 1st rally at Red Bud RV Ranch. The park had a beautiful Christmas tree in the rally hall that we enjoyed and loaded down with our toys for tots donations. We had a table decorating contest, played senior Jeopardy and volleyball, ate a lot of great boomers pot lucks. We made our toy donation this year to the local police and fire department Blue Santa toy drive. Many Thanks to Hughes and Busby's for hosting our final rallly for 2023.
